It's been a minute since I've heard from Lady Luck, perhaps my favorite female emcee of all time. As with the last time we checked in with her, Luck is still working on getting her album out, still repping Jersey as much as any rapper in the game right now, and still spitting over beats that aren't quite on the same level as her lyrics. Yet you could throw her vocals over a generic 808 beat and I'd still bump it. The other day she passed along her latest single, which I'm told is intended as a continuation of her ongoing beef with Reece Steele (I'll leave it up to you to debate the merits of carrying on a feud with one of Serch's reality show rejects), doing her own take on one of Biggie's greatest lyrics:
Luck also passed along another song, aimed at getting some play in the clubs. I'm not as big a fan of this one as I am of My Target - I'll always prefer the stuff she puts out for the "streets" over the club joints - but I get what she's going for here. Hopefully it gets her some mainstream play:
