Haji from Dumhi, who you may remember as the man behind the Vaguely Jamaican Remix and the tremendous Yoga at Home EP, is getting set to put out a new project, the Flowers EP. Scheduled for release on the eve of Valentine's Day (it will be available for free download on February 13th), Haj describes Flowers as "a 26 minute audio movie." Consider the following then, the first single off of the EP, to be the trailer to that movie:
I'll throw up a couple of more cuts from Flowers once it gets released. If you're in Philly next month, be sure to mark your calendars for March 7th, when Dumhi, Tanya Morgan and Hustle Simmons will be celebrating the release of the EP at the M-Room.
If you liked Ain't Goin' Back, Haj sends word that he is working with Jermiside on a full length album which will be out sometime before the summer. More updates on that once we get closer to its release.
And while we're on the subject of Valentine's Day, start checking Souled On (as if you weren't already) over the next couple of weeks. Scholar's going to be running a series of Valentine's related posts, and he was kind enough to ask me to contribute. Not sure when mine will be going up, but I'll throw up a link to it once it does.
