With the site being down for a few hours yesterday (something that seems to be contagious), I had to focus on my email game and ended up getting into some good discussions with a few of you. Shout out to everyone that hit me up on the inbox yesterday. One of the conversations I had was with my man Gramz. The topic of the Everlast vs. Eminem beef came up, with Gramz claiming that Everlast handed Em a house of pain and won the battle.

For those of you who forgot, or just never bothered to pay attention the first time around, the whole beef started after Eminem, on his way to perform at a concert, walked by Everlast in the lobby of a hotel and did not stop by to say hello. I do this all the time to people at work, yet surprisingly none of my coworkers have ever dropped a diss track aimed at me. Anyway, Whitey Ford took this as a sign of disrespect and put out a record calling Em out. Eminem put out a response which was followed up by another Everlast diss track and then a final Eminem/D12 response over the infamous Tupac Hit Em Up beat. Both Everlast and Eminem suggested that they were willing to drop the mic and start throwing hands, but the closest we ever got to seeing that was Vanilla Ice vs. Todd Bridges.

This whole thing eventually led to Eminem's falling out with Limp Bizkit and DJ Lethal (the former DJ for House of Pain). Both Fred Durst and Lethal appeared on a radio interview with Em when the topic of Everlast came up, and they all agreed they'd appear on a track together responding to Everlast. When Em put the track together, both Fred and Lethal backed out and Em called them out on it. A battle with Fred Durst is pretty lame, so I'm not going to bother searching for that track. Dilated Peoples also got involved, taking Everlast's side, and Em eventually put out a track aimed at them as well.

Here are the Everlast and Eminem diss tracks. I could only find the second Everlast track:

Eminem Remembers
Whitey's Revenge
Eminem and D12 Hit Em Up

Now, in my opinion, Eminem gets the better of Everlast on this one. Not only does he come with better lyrics overall, but he gets bonus points for singing a verse. Everlast gets a D.Q. for hitting below the belt with the line: "Better run and check that kid for your D.N.A." Those of you who have managed to figure out how to use the comments section, feel free to add your opinion on the matter.

In related news, that new Eminem mixtape is supposed to drop any day now. As soon as its out, I'll be hitting up the street corner bootleggers with the quickness.

**UPDATE**: Gramz hooked me up with the original Dilated Peoples track that set this whole thing off. Here is the Everlast verse:

Everlast busts a .380 on those who act Shady

And I see you trying to take this debate international Gramz. Don't make me bust out my copy of fruityloops and put out a diss record aimed at bsp. jokes! For you new visitors who are wondering why I'm talking about an old beef between Em and Everlast, well, I don't really have a good reason, but its not the first time.
