A couple of months ago, I put up a link to a Papoose vs. Mense mixtape. Thanks largely to the work of Mense's promo team, that post has become, according to google, the most popular thing I've posted up here. That's kind of depressing, because the mixtape wasn't even that interesting.
Anyway, in the time since that post a lot has happened. Mense was jumped by 25 people (guess who's crew it was?) up in the Bronx. Papoose, in the meantime, has been putting together his debut album and even had a feature on MtvNews with Kool G. Rap and Kay Slay. As of right now, it looks like Papoose is going to come out on top, or at the very least be the first one to release an album. I'm still not sold on the idea of either one of these dudes becoming the next big rapper on the scene, but a lot of you visiting this site seem to be interested in them, so this one's for all of you.
Today's track is a Busta Rhymes song featuring Papoose and Cassidy (apparently they have decent recording studies in the prison facilities), over a J Dilla beat. It came out a few days ago, for one of Kay Slay's new mixtapes.
