Zilla's Wu-Tang Pulp project - a collection of Wu-Tang Clan classics remade and reimagined by the Wrecking Crew collective of Zilla Rocca, Curly Castro and Has-Lo - has been in the works for a few years now, and while I always thought it was a great idea conceptually it wasn't until he slid me Has-Lo's instrumental remake of Method Man's Bring The Pain last year that I truly appreciated just how great it was going to be in execution. As much as I loved Has-Lo's production, however, everything else about the finished version of Pain Bringer is top notch as well: from the verses of fellow Philadelphian Ethel Cee (previously featured
here alongside Bahamadia), to Castro's channeling of Mr. Meff on the hook, to the artwork that's better than anything Jim Lee or Todd Mcfarlane has done in years. Check it out:
