DJ I-Dee - "The Right" (feat. Jean Grae & Wrekonize)
Continuing the parade of old videos that I've only recently discovered through Vimeo, the above song was originally intended as the lead single for DMC Champion DJ I-Dee's 2008 debut album Solitude. RPG heads should pretty quickly recognize the main sample on The Right from Final Fantasy, a sample that the video game's producer refused to clear, resulting in the song getting dropped from the album. The video itself, shot before I-Dee was aware of the complications with the sample, is pretty amazing, featuring what I'm sure is a bit of fantasy fulfillment for many members of the nerdcore community: Jean Grae dressed up as an anime character rapping over a video game beat.
Since he's not allowed to sell it, DJ I-Dee has made the song available for free. Here's a zShare link for The Right.
