DJ Slim - I Wanna Get High
I don't smoke, but for some reason a lot of my favorite movies and songs have cannabis as a central theme. Friday, Half Baked, The Chronic, Temples of Boom, Weeds, Redman, Bob Marley...somehow I've acquired a burnout's sensibilities without ever having been one. That thought occurred to me while watching the above video from Boston's DJ Slim, off of his appropriately titled album Hemp Hits. I don't have an explanation for it, but somehow throwing in a few closeups of the sticky green significantly increases the entertainment value of a video for me.
Somewhat related, congratulations to John Forte on getting a pardon for his drug conviction, which was apparently a result of some strong lobbying from Carly Simon. Wouldn't it be nice if the thousands of people currently in prison for non-violent marijuana offenses got pardons, too?
