Back in January, former Artifacts member El Da Sensei hooked up with a pair of Polish producers calling themselves The Returners and put out what remains one of the best singles of the year (which we posted here, but it seems the mp3 is no longer available). It's a shame that no one on this side of the Atlantic took notice of the release, as the production and lyricism on display harkened back to the kind of hip hop that so many people claimed had died out.
Putting out beats that are loaded with samples and a healthy dose of vinyl scratching, Little & DJ Chwial of The Returners seem to be more in tune than a lot of mainstream American producers with the essential ingredients for a dope beat. El apparently agrees, as he's turned to the duo to produce all of the songs on his upcoming album, Global Takeover. Here are two songs off of the album, which will be available next Tuesday on iTunes:

Sadly, no mention on there of the long-rumored Artifacts reunion album, but now that El and Tame One have both released solo albums, I can only hope that they put their differences aside long enough to bang out an album's worth of songs.
