Mulatto Patriot featuring Prosper Jones and Mena - Showtime 1 Down 1 2 Go
The above video is from Chicago-based producer Mulatto Patriot, off of his upcoming album Sonic Visuals, due out next week. The rapping is a little off at times, but as Pete Rock has shown us in the past, you don't have to be a great emcee to put out a great producer's album. Luckily for Hyde Park's MP, he seems to have a knack for putting together dope beats and has managed to get guest appearances from Ras Kass and the Hieroglyphics, so Sonic Visuals may be worth a look. As for the beat on this song, built around a sample from the Progressive Rock band Yes' Leave It, it's been stuck in my head since I first heard it this past weekend.
