My man Chris "He's Hers" Brown recently passed along a track from his brother Pips that I thought was quite good. Pips has remixed DJ Eddie F & The Untouchables' Let's Get It On into something that sounds like it would fit right in at a piano bar (well, a piano bar with Big and Pac on open mic night), replacing the original's New Jack Swing vibe with a significantly jazzier sample. The song first appeared on Eddie F's Let's Get It On LP, released under Motown Records. Though it featured one of Mary J Blige's first songs, along with Big and Tupac's rare collaboration on the title track, I don't remember the album itself getting played much around my way. Eddie F went back to touring as Heavy D's dj soon after the album's release in 1994, but by that point Heav was more focused on his fledgling career as an actor, and I don't think Eddie ever had a followup.
