The Roots freestyle from 1992 - On The Go 2: Repeat Offender video (Part 2)

In the early 90's, there was a magazine called On The Go that focused primarily on graffiti and hip hop. I don't ever remember seeing an actual copy of it on any of the newsstands around my way, but On The Go managed to achieve legendary status among my friends as a result of a video that was released to promote the magazine. There were three different On The Go tapes, but only the second tape, Repeat Offender, made it to my neighborhood, in the form of a bootleg VHS tape. Along with the above footage of Black Thought freestyling to ?uestlove's prompts, the tape also featured the Artifacts, the deejays from the X-Men/X-Cutioners and a whole lot of graffiti murals.

Shout out to Cosmo Baker for putting the entire video up on YouTube. Here are links to the other five parts of the video:

Part 1 - Intro to Roots freestyle

Part 3 - The Artifacts talk about their start as graffiti artists and how they taught Redman to throw up tags

Part 4 - Rob Swift routine

Part 5 - Interview with DC tagger SMK

Part 6 - Interview with Graffiti artist Revs
