Nice 'N Smooth - Hip Hop Junkies
I was searching for some 80's era hip hop on YouTube today when I came across the above version of Nice 'N Smooth's Hip Hop Junkies. MTV used to have Sometimes I Rhyme Slow in heavy rotation (a video you may never see on mainstream television again, due to the prominent role of Smooth's "nine millime...ter"), but I don't remember ever seeing the Junkies video before, and I definitely don't remember ever hearing that remixed beat under it. All things considered, I think the album version of the song is better, but the video's kind of dope. The hand-kissing intro seems to have gotten the attention of the Youtube comment section, a group always on the lookout for an opportunity to post "nhjic," but I was so mesmerized by Smooth's tangerine suit that I didn't even notice.
