Shabba Ranks featuring KRS-1 - The Jam
Yesterday's post got me to thinking about one Shabba Ranks song that I had unsuccessfully been trying to track down for a couple of years, The Jam featuring KRS-1. It took about two years for someone to upload it onto YouTube, but thankfully someone finally took the initiative. I could swear that the beat on the cassette version of As Raw as Ever that I used to play back in my middle school days was slightly different from the above version. Sadly, my cassette died a long time ago, so I have no way of verifying this. Regardless, it's still possibly the finest example of hip hop mixed with dancehall (though I'll concede there's an argument to be made for Supercat's Dolly My Baby Remix with Biggie).
Apparently there was also remix to The Jam on the b-side of the vinyl single, which I hadn't heard before. Here's the link to the Ram Jam remix
