If you've been keeping up with the numerous features that we've put up in the past, then you probably don't need much of an introduction to Chachi, Rhode Island's top emcee (as annointed by Vibe magazine). Mixing a boom bap era approach to hip hop with Cape Verdean influenced production, he's spent the past several years building his rep through live performances. Now on the verge of releasing his debut album, About Time, Chachi passed a long a couple of tracks to give you all a taste of what's to come.

For the first official single off of About Time, Chachi teamed up with a producer out of Paris, France, going by the name Elji. Check it out:

Chachi - The Best Price

Chachi has also been putting together a "street album" (read: mixtape), The Worlds Serious, which will be out some time in the fall. Here's one of the songs that will be featured on the mixtape, which jacks the beat from Pharrell and Snoop Dogg's Let's Get Blown:

Chachi - We Got That

As the release date for the album gets closer, I'll post an update on it and hopefully a new song or two. In the meantime, you can visit his Myspace page for further information.

And be sure to mark August 26th on your calendar, as Chachi will be appearing on BET's 106 and Park as a followup to winning the show's "Wild Out Wednesday" competition this past winter. He'll be performing live with Nelson Freitas, a singer who's apparently quite popular among people who listen to Ghetto Zouk (a genre of music that I must admit I know absolutely nothing about).
