On the list of achievements that I would like to accomplish in my lifetime (hip hop-related achievements, anyway), having a meeting at the offices of The Source would rank pretty close to the top. I can now cross that one off of my list, as I had the chance to go down their yesterday and meet with the guys who run the magazine. It's a long, strange story as to how all of this came to pass, and sometime in the near future I suspect I'll have a chance to explain all of that, but that will have to be a story for another day (non-disclosures are currently preventing me from saying anything of interest).
Their current offices admittedly don't have quite the same lustre that I'd imagine they had back in their heyday before all of the drama and their reemergence from bankruptcy, and the spectres of Dave Mays and Ray Benzino continue to linger over everything that goes on there, but it's still The Source. And damn, it was exciting to be there.
