Century Sam and J.A.I. Murdah - 881
Somewhere near the end of 2005, my man Biz from SpliffHuxtable mentioned that he had been producing beats for a kid named Century Sam out of Toronto. Every few months Biz would send me snippets of what they had been working on, and I kept bugging them to hook me up with the full album. This past weekend, almost three years after I first heard of Sam, I finally got to listen to his album Hunger is a State of Mind. Filled with some absolute bangers - Biz and Sam's production is as good as just about any instrumental that's been featured over at SpliffHuxtable - it was well worth the wait.
At some point in the next week, Biz and Sam will be making the whole album available for free, and once I get my act together we'll be putting up an interview on the site to go along with that. In the meantime, I wanted to give you guys just a taste of what's coming with the above video. And here's one more from Sam:
