My man Brandon over at Embedded Music sent along some new music from my favorite crew of Brooklyn backpackers, Nuclear Family. The songs feature Queens-based NukFam affiliate Bisc1 (a.k.a. Busy Bisc1), a man who up until now has made his name in hip hop as the graphic artist behind some of the album covers from RJD2, Aesop Rock, Rakim and C-Ray Walz.

There's no question Bisc has skills as a graphic (and graffiti) artist, but he's not too bad as an emcee, either. Here are a couple of tracks off of Bisc1's just-released sophomore album When Electric Night Falls (the title of the album is, in part, a nod to the fact that most of the work on this album was done at night, in the hours after his 9-to-5 as a graphic artist):

Bisc1 - Turbulance

Bisc1 Featuring Esen & Grimace - Paranoid

Bonus video: Dap Magazine interview with Bisc1, discussing his start with graffiti, the artwork he's done for various rappers and his emcee mentoring program for kids.

You can hear more from Bisc1 over at his Imeem profile. For video and downloadable audio from his live shows, hit up his blog. Also, if any of you happen to be in NY tonight, he's performing with Junk Science, Cool Calm Pete and Iller Than Theirs - all of whom we've featured in the past - over at the Mercury Lounge.
