Nico The Beast - It's Your Choice
Despite Zilla Rocca's unwavering (and much-appreciated) support of this site over the past two years, I've never really had the chance to spotlight his partner-in-rhyme Nico The Beast. Nico's got a bit of an aversion to the world wide web, so I don't have too much background info on him to share with you (yet - see below). What little I do know of him I've gleaned from the tracks that he's put out, both as a solo artist and as one half of Clean Guns, and it's enough to say that the man has earned his nickname; he is most definitely a Beast on the mic, and in this day and age of half-assed lyricism, that should be just enough information to get any true hip hop head to take notice.
Zilla came through yesterday and reminded me of one of the tracks that Nico had put out over a beat from K-Def's Willie Boo Boo - The Fool album, so I thought I'd use that as an excuse to put up some of his music. The song's off of the Yadibox Dot Com mixtape (copies still available!):

Nico has agreed to do an interview for the site, which I'll be putting together some time in the very near future (strangely enough, for as much as I ramble on in the posts here, I tend to get writer's block when it comes to thinking up questions for an interview - hopefully he won't back out before I get them done!). He should have some interesting things to say about his connection with Beanie Sigel, the amount of hours he spends every day in the booth, life as an independent artist, his upcoming mixtape No Beast So Fierce...who knows, we might even get him to share an embarrassing story from Zilla's childhood. Keep an eye out for that, hopefully I'll get that done sometime in the next week or two.
