(Analogic and Rashid)
Despite my ongoing efforts to feature music from my home state, I haven't had a whole lot of success finding artists from Jersey to contribute material to the site. I was fairly excited, then, to see that someone had sent me a new track from Analogic, a producer out of Trenton who made a bit of a name for himself at last year's revival of the Soundbombing Beat Battle. Hooking up with Chicago emcee Rashid Hadee to form A+R, the duo just put out a new EP, Serenade for the Moment.

Serenade is brief, featuring just six tracks, but the duo manage to make the most of their short amount of time on the EP. Analogic's beats have the kind of "classic" feel to them, aided in part by the increasingly rare use of vinyl cuts, that should keep the boom bap fans happy. As for Rashid, I had never heard of him before, but his performance was good enough to convince me that I need to start checking for him in the future.

Here are the two singles from the album, courtesy of the group's P.R. team Foundation Media:

A+R - Explode

A+R featuring GQ - The Awakening

Serenade for the Moment is available over on iTunes. Here's a link to purchase it. (iTunes link)

And for those of you who are into jazz, you may be familiar with Rashid's uncle, Eldee Young, who was the bassist for The Ramsey Lewis Trio.
