(Image - Mickey Factz: Heaven's Fallout)
Though it was released almost a month ago, I didn't get a chance to listen to Mickey Factz' new mixtape, Heaven's Fallout, until this past weekend. If you haven't heard it yet, you can download the whole thing for free over at his website, GFC New York. As usual, Mickey foregoes traditional hip hop production and jacks beats from a wide range of artists, including The Smiths, Prodigy and Daft Punk. His choice of beats are unlikely to win over the boom-bap crowd, but for those of you who don't mind a little hipster in your hip hop, this is worth a listen.

Here are two tracks off of Heaven's Fallout:

Mickey Factz - Breathe Another Day (samples Kylie Minogue's Breathe)

Mickey Factz - Stop Me (samples The Smith's Stop Me)

To read Mickey's commentary on each of the tracks from the mixtape, check out this article from Paid and Popular. Jayson Atienza, an artist from Jersey City, did the artwork for the cover of Heaven's Fallout.

In related news (and the real reason that I'm linking to a month-old mixtape), Mickey Factz was kind enough to contribute a couple of tracks to this year's upcoming edition of the 33Jones miX-Mas mixtape (you can read more about the previous miX-Mas series here if you need to catch up). I'll have an "official" announcement on that in a couple of weeks, and once it's done I'll be giving them out for free as usual. As always, if any artists out there would like to contribute to the mixtape, hit me up at mrjones AT 33jones.com.
