Brand Nubian - Slow Down (Pete Rock Remix)
As it manages to combine the topics of the past two posts, Pete Rock and the Nation of Gods and Earths, this seemed like a good video to end the week. I think this is one of the few times where the beat sounded better before getting the Pete Rock remix treatment, but the video is pretty amusing. My opinion of Brand Nubian remains unchanged, but I have to admit that the original beat to Slow Down, built around a sample of Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians' What I Am, is a classic.
Be sure to keep an eye on the screen at the 1:30 mark of the video. I could be mistaken, but that looks an awful lot like Internets Celebrity Dallas Penn.
