Still rocking the cassettes in my car, due to the CD player still bugging out. Each week I go further back into the crate to find some tapes that still work. This week I seem to have hit the late-80's section of my collection, and today I found a copy of a D-Nice tape.

Not that there was a whole lot of competition, but he was always the dude I liked best from B.D.P (other than Bumpy Knuckles maybe). KRS-1 was the best rapper from Boogie Down in his prime, but like Jordan coming back with the Wizards, dude's legacy took a hit from staying in the game too long. Battle with Shan over the origins of hip hop? Respect. Battle with Nelly and P.M. Dawn over who represents hip hop? Nil respec'.

Right, so anyway, back in the day D-Nice was one of my favorite rappers. I first heard They Call Me D-Nice when I was in middle school, when my brother had it in heavy rotation on his Jetta's booming system. I hit up google and found D-Nice's blog/homepage.

There's a lot of stuff on there. He has a blog, some mp3s, and a bunch of digital photography he's done. Good to see he's keeping busy.

On his site he has They Call Me D-Nice as a free download. Cop it here.
