I'm usually not a fan of groups that try to incorporate rock with rap - they typically end up sounding like watered down versions of Linkin Park or, even worse, Limp Bizkit - so when I got a promo for BLESTeNATION (yeah, that's how they capitalize the letters), a group touted as "hip hop for rock fans," I didn't expect much. Their biggest claim to fame up until this point was having Travis Barker, the former drummer for Blink 182, put in a guest appearance on one of their mixtape tracks. Not the type of music I'd ordinarily be checking for.
I haven't yet had a chance to listen to their mixtape (if it's any good, I'll do a post on it next week), but I thought this video was worth putting up. Any hip hop song that attempts to use a sample from Terry Reid's Seed of Memory gets props from me. The MCs are a little too indie rock for my tastes, but the beat is dope.
