I spent the majority of my time in the office today listening to 3 Feet High and Rising on my iPod, so for no other reason than that I decided to link to Me, Myself and I...
This week's edition of promos that should have never been released, yet still made it into my inbox:
The Alliance - Goin' Digital.
Ok, I know this is the second week in a row that I've made reference to the travesty that is MIMS, but is this beat actually sampling This Is Why I'm Hot?
Omillio Sparks - The Love Or Money
I think I may have linked to this song a couple of weeks ago, but it was sent to me again today. It's probably the best song from this week's batch of promos, so enjoy it.
Metafore - Nah Mean (youtube link)
I've already said my piece on Metafore last week, so let me just direct you to this video that was posted in response to Metafore (not sure what exactly they're responding to, but that's what the youtube link said). The director for the video boasts that it has a "stretch Rolls Royce Phantom" in it - and clearly the entire budget was blown on the car rental - but it becomes clear after the first closeup that it's just a generic limo with a cheap body kit on it. Awesome.
DJ BC - Hop Star (mp3 link)
Mixing the beat from Radio City's The Hop with N.E.R.D.'s Rock Star. I like both songs better in their original form, though this is a nice enough mashup.
Master P discusses his role as "Black Supaman."
This is now the third trailer Master P's P.R. team has sent out for this train wreck of a movie. Far more interesting - to me, anyway - was the recruitment ad for the U.S. Navy that pops up on the same page as the Black Supaman trailer:
For all of the millions of dollars that the armed services are spending to get new recruits, the best their marketing team could come up with is an "E-message" conversation with "slackwhacker"? And they're running it alongside a Master P movie?
And finally, this wasn't a promo but I thought it was interesting enough to post nonetheless:
