A few links from around the internet, haphazardly thrown together:

I'm not a huge fan of NYOIL/Kool Kim's Unreal (the video featured at the top of this post), but I do respect the fact that he's got something to say in his lyrics. From my brief conversations with him, he seems to be a real genuine dude, so good luck to him. For an interesting take on the video, go read what obtusity has to say about it.

I've defended Status Ain't Hood in the past - while I don't agree with his taste in music, he seems to earnestly believe in what he says - but writing an article entitled, "The Grim Implications of Lil Wayne's Arrest" along with the statement that, "Lil Wayne is better than Jim Morrison" is indefensible.

I just got an email today from Def Jam, urging me to "LEND YOUR SUPPORT TO AN EXECUTIVE PRESIDENTIAL PARDON FOR THE LEGENDARY RON ISLEY AKA MR. BIGGS." (I couldn't find an online version of Def Jam's petition, but it's similar to this one). It's funny to me that Russell Simmons has gone out of his way to speak out against Michael Vick, but when it's an artist that's earning money for his label - an artist who's actually been convicted - he's suddenly asking for leniency? Seems hypocritical to me.

As a follow up to my earlier post on one of the most unethical men currently in politics (and that's saying something these days), my man Ryan sends news that things could be getting a lot worse for Mr. Gonzales.

I'm late on this one, but it's looking like Jay-Z may be leaving Def Jam for Columbia. They mentioned it on 106 and Park tonight, and you know how thorough they are with the fact-checking, so I'd put the odds of this happening at about 50-1. I'd be interested to hear how Nas is feeling about his decision to sign up with Def Jam.

Just Blaze put up a nice collection of old records, but OhWord came through with the real hookup.

Thugonline has the audio to Kanye's Hot 97 "freestyle" over 50 Cent's I Get Money instrumental. You don't need me to tell you how horrible it is, but the best part occurred afterwards (not included in the audio). Immediately after Kanye finishes stumbling through the freestyle, Common comes on Angie Martinez's show and declares that Kanye is such a lyrical monster, he dreams about Ye's verses at night. Word?

Speaking of Kanye, Biz has the instrumental for Can't Tell Me Nothing.

Souledonmusic has a nice breakdown of some DJ Premier beats.

Unkut has a great interview with Mark the 45 King.

And Bgdboom has another solid interview with producer Nicolay.

If you're still fiending for some Sean Price, the Commish has a link up to a couple of the tracks off of the new Master P mixtape.

And can someone explain to me what's going on in Atlanta these days? I was willing to overlook Snap music as a passing fad, but I'm not so sure anymore.
