Two mixtapes for today that, due to basketball tournament I had to play in tonight, I haven't had time to really listen to. If they're wack, don't blame me:

The first tape, featuring production from Dilla and DJ Babu, comes from the California-based group Strong Arm Steady (consisting of MCs Phil the Agony, Mitchy Slick and Krondon). The tape is a preview of their upcoming album Deep Hearted, due out on August 28th.

The second mix comes from 9th Wonder, featuring Big Treal, the first artist off of his new, post-Little-Brother label "9th's Wonderful World of Music." From the press release:

In response to the high anticipation of Big Treal's first studio album, tentatively titled "James Lilley's Son", he will be releasing four new mixtapes. The first of which being Str8 Drop: The Mixtape (Presented by 9th Wonder & DJ MC). . .In addition to collaborating with his label mate Big Remo "Str8 Drop" also features artists such as Skyzoo, and Fatin, as well as production from 9th Wonder and local producers Mr. Mikal Evans & DJ Ford."

For those of you at work who can't download an entire mixtape without raising the suspicions of your IT department, here's one of the tracks off of the Big Treal tape:
