A few mixes for today:
Hour long mix from DJ Premier, featuring tracks from Kanye, Skyzoo, L.L. and Fifty. Speaking of Primo, he's doing a show at Arena in Manhattan on Thursday night. If any of you are in the city and interested, hit me up and I might be able to get you on the guest list for it.
Griff just put out another new mixtape, featuring a whole lot of southern rappers. The most interesting track on the tape is a collaboration between Dizzee Rascal and U.G.K., if only for the rare intersection of East London slang with Texas drawl. Benja Styles reggae remix of Lil Mama's Lip Gloss. The song is still annoying, but it does sound slightly better with the riddim that Benja throws under it.
And one quick bit of news: Charles White, the suspect in the murder of Stack Bundles, was found dead this morning. Since this dude apparently put a few freestyles on tape, all of the local news stations in my area are labeling this the start of "a rap war." Right.
