The following dissertation will probably only appeal to the handful of lawyers and law school students that visit this site, but it's rare that the late, great
Russell Jones gets quoted by a Superior Court judge so I felt this warranted a post of its own. Some background, in Judge Bill Methesius' (of Mercer County, NJ) own words:
I was suspended
from the performance of [my] judicial duties, without pay, for a
period of thirty days. . . While reducing the proposed preposterous
penalty of suspension for six months to an only ridiculous 30 days,
the Supreme Court invited me to take the opportunity to reflect on
[my] position of authority and the manner in which [I exercise] that
position of authority. Ever striving to please, I welcomed the
invitation. I removed to a remote and undisclosed location to
encourage contemplation and reflection. . .I report herewith the
product of that reflection.
What follows after that opening paragraph is twelve pages of what would appear to be the ravings of a man in the process of committing career suicide (though he does have a valid point, buried below dozens of footnotes). If you're going to flame out, though, what better way to end than with a quote from Ol' Dirty Bastard's
Here Comes the Judge (see footnote 75 of the following text)?
