Starting tomorrow I will be attending a week-long conference for my company, so posting may be sporadic over the next few days. Along with a mandatory "casino night" event (which I imagine will be just like
The Office), I'll be teaching a class and giving a speech. Though it's been a few years since I've had to do any sort of public speaking, my boss decided I'd be the right person to give an hour-long presentation in front of a couple hundred conference attendees. On a subject I know next to nothing about (the chemical industry). I can only hope that the hotel bar opens early that day.
I should still have some decent tracks to put up this week, but there probably won't be a whole lot of commentary to go along with it (which some of you may consider a positive...). A couple of promo tracks for today:
Kevin Michael Featuring Lupe Fiasco - We All Want The Same Thing (Windows Media stream)
The
album version of the track, featuring Lupe Fiasco, has been going around for the past week or so, but I like this acoustic version better. It's a bit more adult contemporary-sounding than what I would normally listen to, though.
Hurricane Chris - Bay Bay (Windows Media stream)
This is easily the most annoying hook I've heard on a song since Lil Jon put out a record, and the use of an actual baby on the track does not help matters. The only hip hop track I can think of that succesfully incorporated an infant's voice was that one instrumental from the Wild Style soundtrack that Timbaland sampled for
Are You That Somebody. I now have that damn "Bay Bay Bay" stuck in my head, so you all might as well suffer along with me.
Young Jeezy and U.S.D.A. - Corporate Thuggin' (Windows Media stream)
If you like Jeezy, you'll like this track. If you don't, you still won't after listening to this song.
