Quick post for today, but it's a good one. This is a remix of AZ's Doe or Die by Swedish producer Beatconductor:

Unrelated news item that I thought was worth mentioning: The state of Florida has enacted new legislation that will require stores to fingerprint and check the i.d. of anyone who wants to sell their used cds,
according to an article from ars technica (I haven't been able to verify the fingerprinting claim from any other news sites yet, but the rest of the article holds up on further research). The law also requires the store to hold the cd for 30 days before reselling it and the CDs can only be exchanged for a store credit. Utah also has similar legislation, with Rhode Island and Wisconsin next in line.
The law is being touted as a measure to prevent theft, yet it's hard to see this as anything other than yet another attempt by the major labels to put an end to second-hand sales of CDs and redefine the concept of copyright. I can't think of any other industry (other than the film industry) that is so dead set on treating its consumers like criminals - and rest assured, once your fingerprints are in the system they'll be checked by the police during routine investigations just like every other criminal who's ever had their fingerprints taken. Do I really need to have my name put into the system just so I can sell one of my old 50 Cent cds?
