A trio of mixes for today:

As I've mentioned previously on this site, Stephen Marley recently released an album, Mind Control. Its only been out for a month or so, but already its gotten the full mashup/remix treatment by the collective over at Beat-Boot-Ique.

To listen to tracks from the remix album, check out beat-boot-ique's website, where you'll also find a link to download it. I'm not really feeling the remix album itself (most of the tracks are mashups in the most traditional sense, and not what I'd normally be checking for), but it will give you a taste of what Stephen Marley's real album is like. I definitely recommend purchasing the original Mind Control, as it's one of the better reggae albums to come out in the past ten years.

Mix #2: Radio History of Hip-Hop Volume 11: 1989, from The Rub. Featuring throwbacks from the likes of Kool G Rap, Kwame the Boy Genius, Chill Rob G and a bunch of other old school artists, its not only a good history lesson but also a great mix to listen to. Here's a direct link to the mix (mp3).

And finally, for those of you who weren't convinced by my earlier review of his album, Marco Polo has put up a mix featuring some of the songs from Port Authority (due out on May 15th). Download the mix here (direct link to .zip file).
