While my employer unfortunately did not give me a three day weekend for Easter, mentally I've already clocked out for the week. In other words, I'm going to hit you off with a short post. From Styles P's latest mixtape,
The Phantom:
Too Fly
Old Ghost (the beat's from an old Tupac track, but I can't think of the name of it -- leave a comment if you know it)
Blow
Styles is a solid lyricist, but I can't say I've ever been a huge fan of his.
Good Times (a.k.a. I get High High Highhhhh) is one of the best tracks Swizz Beats has managed to produce, but beyond that I haven't been feeling the rest of his commercial output. His mixtapes, on the other hand, tend to be pretty solid. Perhaps that's because he tends to jack better beats on the mixtapes than on his official releases, both on his solo album and with the Lox.
You can buy the tape over at
mixtrap.com. Or you can spend a minute on google hunting down a bootleg version of it if you've spent all of your spare change on jelly beans and peeps (or whatever the equivalent is for Passover --
passover candy?).
