Yeah, I know its still September, but I put the October mix up anyway!
This mix comes from DJ Nikki Nize, a friend of mine from Jamaica. Its a bit of a throwback -- she gave me a copy of the mix back in 1995. I finally got around to digitizing the casette today (so you will notice an occasional pop in the sound).
I don't have a full tracklist for this mix yet, but I will post it as soon as I have it. There's some old Shabba Ranks, SuperCat and a bunch of other early reggae dance hall artists. All of it holds up surprisingly well, considering how old it is -- in fact I like this older stuff better than anything SeanPaul or Bounty Killah has put out in the last few years.
Unfortunately, my webhost is limiting the size of the files I can upload, so I have had to break this mix up into 4 parts (each roughly 15 minutes long). October Mix Part 1.mp3
Any other djs out there that want us to host your mix, holler at me. We can either host the mix on our site, or just link to your own site.
