Its been a minute since I've put up any reggae/dancehall tracks on this site, so when one of my MySpace informants hit me up with the latest from Jersey's DJ Nappy I had to put it up. Blending Gza's
Liquid Swords with Cham's
Rude Boy Pledge, this one should go over well with both Jamaican and 90's Hip Hop heads:
Cham - Rude Boy Swords
To hear more of DJ Nappy's work, go visit
his website. He's got a couple of albums available for download. They're free, so go take a minute to check them out.
For further reggae listening, Vh1 has Stephen Marley's latest album up on their site. You can listen to it for free
over here. I've put a couple of his tracks up on the site before, but there's a new song with Mos Def on there ("Hey Baby" - track 2 on the Vh1 page) that's sounding pretty good.
The album itself is a lot closer to Bob Marley's traditional sound than the last cd put out by one of the Marley progeny, Junior Gong Marley's
Welcome To Jamrock, which was essentially a Jamaican rap album. Stephen Marley's lyrics aren't all that spectacular, but the album itself is still a good listen despite that if you're into reggae.
