After Dasit, the rapper with Eminem's flow and
Michael Bolton's fashion sense, gave Serch the gas face and left the White Rapper Show, it was only a matter of time before he put together a diss record. For those of you who have been waiting breathlessly for it, you can now rest easy:
Dasit - Hater 2
Dasit actually sounds like he has some lyrical skills, though he doesn't do much here to counter the accusations that he's Slim Shady Lite. The biggest disappointment is that, for all of the extreme character flaws that the various cast members had, the best insults he could come up with are the obvious ones: pointing out that Shamrock has a harelip and Persia is fat. Say word?
There's no doubt in my mind that a lot of this "beef" has been manufactured by Dasit in an attempt to get some attention from the media. Yet it needs to be mentioned that Dasit was mentored at one point in his career by (MC) Hammer. And Hammer, you may remember,
put out a $60,000 hit on MC Serch and his 3rd Bass partner Pete Nice after Pete dropped the line, "The Cactus turned HammerÆs Mother out." Maybe Dasit is holding on to some of that old grudge for Hammer.
Ultimately, MC Serch played himself by hosting the White Rapper Show. I don't need a diss record from one of the show's contestants to know that. At the end of the day, though, Serch will always be able to say that he helped produce
Illmatic. That trumps anything Dasit can lay claim to.
Dasit says that he recently signed a
million dollar record deal and will be releasing an album later this year. To hear more of his music, hit up
his MySpace page.
