Using google's image search, this is what came up for the keywords "rapper Cassidy".

After work today I copped a few mixtapes from the local bootleggers. I haven't had a chance to go through most of them yet, but the first tape I listened to was Cassidy's latest offering, The Answer, hosted by DJ Kool Kid. This is more like a "Best Of Cassidy" tape, with a lot of classic freestyles and just a few new tracks. Most of the new material, in fact, features Swizz Beats on the mic (stick to the production side of things, homie). If you're looking for a sampler of Cassidy tracks, by all means go pick this up if you can find it. If you have a couple of his previous mixtapes, though, you can probably give this one a pass, as you've probably heard most of it before.

The first few times I listened to him rap, I wasn't a big fan of Cassidy's, mainly because his voice gets a bit grating on the ear after a minute or two. After hearing him undress Freeway (and having SweetP convince me to give him another chance), I started to become a fan of his. I still don't think I could handle a full album of Cassidy (and what he did to his weed carrier was pretty foul), but I have to give it up: he's got punchlines for days.

Two tracks from the mixtape:

Acapella freestyle
Get This Money freestyle

While we're on the subject of Philly rappers, SpineMagazine has the latest cut from Beanie Sigel, Return of the Bad Guy. Click here to listen to it (direct link to SpineMagazine mp3). A rap song using a Scarface sample? How original. Lyrically Beanie's still got it, though.

And for those of you who were feeling that Def Jux/Adult Swim album, DJ Excel just put out a Bmore Club remix of Hangar 18's Bakin' Soda. To hear it, go hit up Excel's MySpace page (then click on "Bakin Soda Excel Remix" in the music player).

For the original Hangar 18 version, here's the video.
