The NBA trade deadline
came and went and despite Bruce Ratner's best attempts to liquidate the Nets' roster in preparation for their impending move to Brooklyn, Jason Kidd and Vince Carter still remain on the team. I know most of you reading this couldn't care less about the Nets, but for those of us in the Garden State, its a pretty big deal. The Nets in all likelihood will never get back to the NBA Finals with their current roster, but at least we'll have something worth watching a little while longer before Ratner and Jay-Z pack up the team and head back home to BK.
Since I've got Jay-Z on my mind (however tangentially), I'm putting up a couple of his old unreleased tracks. They're from the DJ Noodles' mixtape
Lost Ones: The Lost Jay-Z Tapes:
Early This Morning (originally from an old DJ Clue? tape)

In other news, check out
this interview with Saigon (via
RJB). He's got some interesting things to say about his situation with Atlantic Records (the same label that dropped the ball with Lupe Fiasco's debut) and his thoughts on Prodigy ("He would sell his ass for a peanut.").
