Jill, a longtime friend of 33Jones, with Sean Price. Yeah, this is the second time I've used that picture.

By now, you've probably noticed that banner ad on the right side of the page. Just in case any of you were worried, no, I haven't sold out (not yet, anyway). Let me explain:

A few days ago I was speaking with one of the promoters for Duck Down Records about the upcoming Sean Price album. I've been a big fan of Duck Down since way back in the day -- I still have a couple of the old newsletters that Dru Ha and Buckshot used to print up on their dot-matrix printer, a bunch of bootleg cassettes from DJ Logik and a faded old Boot Camp t-shirt that I got at an OGC show -- so I was admittedly excited to get the chance to talk to this dude. I had seen a few leaked tracks out there on the internet, but I'm not trying to have the Feds run up in my crib like my name was Tyree Simmons, so the only way I was going to put one of the songs from Sean Price's album on this site was if I received clearance from his label. I told the promoter I would run the banner ad for a week in exchange for permission to put up one of the album tracks.

The track he gave me has been making the rounds over the past couple of weeks, but its dope so I don't even mind the fact that I'm late to the game with this one. They wouldn't allow me to make it available for download, so you have to play it through the site (apologies for that, but I'm sure you can find it on google if you really need to have an mp3). Let me know if you have any problems with the player (it requires Flash):

Sean Price: P-Body

For more information on Sean Price's upcoming album, Jesus Price Supastar, hit up Duck Down Records. The album will be released on January 30, 2007.

My man Zilla hit me up with a link to an interview that ThaFormula.com recently did with Sean Price. An excerpt:

"I rap about what I feel and I'm 34. So what! Are you mad that I'm 34 and still getting busy? . . . I'm listening to a lot of these young dudes man and they are not sounding that good. I like Saigon, Tru Life and a couple others, but the rest of them dudes is garbage. For the most part these youngstas is garbage. . . these artists are so disposable right now and these fans are becoming like that too. It's like if we don't keep doing stuff, forget about it. You got to keep working, which I don't mind 'cause I got rhymes for days. As long as the beat is hot I don't mind."

As always, Sean P. speaks his mind. Read the full interview here.
