Kanye West stays classy at the MTV Europe Awards. From the linked article:
In a tirade riddled with expletives, Kanye said he should have won the prize for his video Touch The Sky, because it 'cost a million dollars, Pamela Anderson was in it. I was jumping across canyons. If I don't win, the awards show loses credibility.'
Word? Kanye's Touch the Sky video lost out to Justice vs. Simian's
We Are Your Friends.
Watch the Justice video here (I couldn't find Kanye's million dollar video on youtube, perhaps it was pulled from the site in protest of the awards snub). I didn't particularly care for the Justice song, but I have to admit I was more interested in seeing what happened in their video than in Kanye's.
50 Cent will be playing a cop in his next movie role, alongside Robert DeNiro. Seems like he'd
be a natural fit for the role of police officer.
Click here to see the cover for Jay-Z's upcoming
Kingdom Come album. I was hoping for something more
like this. At least Jay used the same red from the Superman picture.
Sacramento King's (and Queensbridge's own) Ron Artest released an album this week,
My World. I gave some serious consideration to reviewing it, but I can only take so much
punishment in one week. Luckily, Slam Magazine put up a review along with a few choice lyrics from the album, including, "
Matt Lauer, up on NBC. You look like a girl don't talk to me."
Read Slam's review here.
DJ Julian Bevan has just put up a website that includes a ton of mixes.
Click here to see the tracklists and download the mixes. I recommend "The Dubtitled Mixtape" under
Hip Hop and Reggae. (link via

Spinemagazine has the latest from Rick Ross, the
Push it to the Limit remix featuring Bun B., Jadakiss, Styles P and The Game.
Download it here. Unless you're a Rick Ross The Boss fan, its only worth listening to for one of the corniest samples I have ever heard in a rap song.
SpliffHuxtable's put up an instrumental 9th Wonder did for Little Brother,
Not Enough. I'm not a big fan of LB but 9th Wonder is a good enough excuse to check their work out every now and then.
Grab the instrumental here.
If you're into 9th Wonder, you're probably also checking for J Dilla. SouledOn has three of his tracks up, from the latest Dilla mixtape,
Legacy Volume One.
Go here to grab the Dilla tracks.
"
Tight jeans cause yeast infections" -- remember when Jeru dropped that line? I had a flashback of that after reading floodwatchmusic's post on Jeru and Afu-Ra's
Physical Stamina.
