Over the summer, Alife put together a small show featuring Just Blaze and John Mayer. Prior to the performance, the two had never met or spoken, but they managed to pull off a completely unrehearsed show with Just cutting up instrumentals and soul records on his turntables while Mayer played on the guitar. It doesn't quite measure up to, say, a live Roots performance, but it is pretty interesting to watch Mayer keep up when Just starts scratching the records. Alife has put up two videos of the show, over on riottt.com:

Unfortunately you have to register with riottt (a site that is sort of like myspace, just with more music) to watch anything more than the trailer, but its worth it. If you don't want to register with your real email address, just use mailinator.
This isn't the first time John Mayer has hooked up with a hip hop artist. Last year, he worked with Kanye West on the song Bittersweet. Check out this video of Mayer and Kanye in the studio together, its surprisingly funny.
