For those of you who happened to be walking down 35th and 8th (incidentally, two blocks away from my old office building -- what up Perform.com!) this afternoon, you may have seen your boy 50 Cent getting pulled over and eventually taken into custody by New York's Finest. First Mos Def and now Fifty? The hip hop police have been on their grind lately.
Apparently things went sour for 50 after he made an "unsafe lane change" in his Lamborghini. That right there should tell you how suspect this whole situation is -- have you ever seen a Manhattan driver make a "safe" lane change, much less get pulled over for it? After being stopped, 50 Cent was arrested for driving with a suspended license and driving in an unregistered car. Or, in the words of one NYPD officer, for "being an asshole."
Here's some advice: if you insist on driving around with a suspended license, try to find a car that's a little less conspicuous than a Lamborghini. Do you really think the police aren't going to run the license plate of a $400,000 car driven by a black man?
