Well, Brinkster got me good this time. I thought we might actually get through August without them crashing the webserver, but they waited until the last day of the month to do it. Looks like they even managed to crash their own servers while updating their software, so I can take some small satisfaction from that. Anyway, everything seems to be back to normal, so I think the site should now load ok. On to the business of the day...

At some point, Puffy is going to regret his involvement with MySpace. Sure, he's managed to amass almost 250,000 "friends," (and its interesting to note that Biggie barely makes the cut for his top 8 friends list) but its come at the cost of his remaining bit of dignity. His gimmick for MySpace has been to put up short videos he's created to give us all access to the "real Diddy." In case the scripted reality tv shows on MTV weren't real enough, I guess. I won't lie though, I keep coming back for more. I don't know if its because he has some sort of charisma in front of the camera, or if I just like watching train wrecks. Here are some of the highlights:

Diddy urinating

Diddy eating breakfast

Diddy discusses his bad breath in the morning

And my favorite: Diddy on Making the Band

As a bonus clip, I found one of his first video appearances. At the 4:17 mark, you can see him dancing in the background: Father MC's Treat Them Like They Want To Be Treated

I believe his first video appearance was in a video for Fine Young Cannibals, but I couldn't find that one on YouTube. Oh well.

In further Diddy-related news, 50 Cent has released a diss track aimed at Puff. At this point we all know that G-Unit releases diss tracks in advance of all album releases similar to the way that most other labels have street teams putting up posters all over the city. I have to say I'm surprised 50 Cent went after Diddy instead of the Game, who has been taking shots at 50 all summer long. Perhaps he's concerned that Danity Kane will outsell Lloyd Banks' upcoming album.

50 Cent vs. Puffy could shape up to be the weakest battle since Trina vs. Khia, though I doubt Puffy will bother to respond to this (at least in a song). It seems that Curtis is upset with Sean due to the fact that Puff hasn't been paying Ma$e's travel expenses. Why exactly is Ma$e travelling anywhere, though? He hasn't put any albums out, and the most he's contributed to G-Unit has been to play the role of 50's girlfriend in the Window Shopper video. If I was Puff, I wouldn't pay for Ma$e to travel around the world as 50 Cent's sidekick either.

So 50 got on the old Dead Prez/Hip Hop beat and went at Puff. I wonder if anyone in G-Unit appreciates the irony of 50 Cent rapping talking over the beat from Dead Prez, a group that is the antithesis of everything 50 Cent stands for. Even more unbelievable is Young Buck's claim at the end of the track that, "G-Unit is Hip Hop." For real?
