It was bound to happen sooner or later. After several tracks by Cam'ron aimed at Jay-Z and a half-hearted response by Hova, it looks like they're about to take it back to the days of the Outlawz vs. Junior Mafia, dragging members of their supporting casts into the dispute.
At the after party for last Sunday's Puerto Rican Day Parade in NY, Jay-Z introduced Roc-La-Familia member Tru Life to the crowd at the Roxy. What followed, by all accounts that I have received, was a pretty thorough attack on Cam and the Diplomats (as well as a one line jab at Puffy). While Jay himself did not have anything to say, it would be hard to believe that this was just a spontaneous outburst by Tru Life. Also showing support for Tru Life onstage were ROC members Memphis Bleak and Noreaga (the Real Nor -- ah, never mind!). From youtube:

Here is a transcript of the whole thing, courtesy of Sickamore. My favorite line, referring to the infamous Rucker Fight: "If Cam's a Blood I guess he's a watchdog / Cuz he ain't do nothing but watch, dawg." Tru also went after Juelz, which is the first time I've ever heard anyone go after Santana. From what I've seen, Juelz has done his best to stay out of the various Dipset beefs.
Tru Life's main focus for the diss was Jim Jones, making references to Jimmy running around Harlem like he's a South Central gangbanger. Now I don't have any problem dressing up like my vatos out in L.A. (who hasn't gone through a Dickies and Chuck Taylors phase at some point in their lives?), but it is funny to see Jim Jones start up the whole "Stop Swagger Jacking" movement while at the same time doing his best to imitate the Bloods.
Tru Life and Jim Jones have had problems since last summer, when Tru Life released The New New York. There were a whole lot of lines in that song referring to NY rappers that weren't repping the city right, and while there was some dispute as to whether or not this was a reference to J.J., it seems pretty clear now that it was, indeed, directed at him. "Gotta walk through New York and feel like I'm in Compton?" Here it is:
