The flip flop wars continue today, as Cam'ron has released his response to Jay-Z's verse on the Rick Ross remix.

For the most part, this track was a bit of a letdown. This feud is nowhere near as interesting as the Jay/Nas feud or even the Cam/Ma$e catfight. Cam spends way too much time analyzing Jay-Z's footwear for my tastes. "Step up to Hermes [flip flops]?" This ain't the Bravo network, homie.

Having said that, Cam did have a line or two that had me laughing, namely the "You're not Santa" line in reference to Jay-Z's once-a-year trips back home to his Marcy projects. What's more insulting to the residents, though, showing up once a year and doing a St. Nick impersonation to maintain your hood pass, or cruising around in your poverty-stricken hood every day in your Lamborghini?

Cam does make a legitimate point when he tells Jay-Z to "sign a rapper from the borough, get off Jeezy's dick." No doubt Jay-Z has been riding hard for the south since becoming Def Jam's president, doing heavy promotion for questionable acts like Rick Ross, while Joe Budden and Redman's unreleased albums are just gathering dust. Cam's point is diluted a bit by the fact that he is rapping over a beat from Atlanta's Young Joc, but at this point I don't expect much consistency from him.

Ultimately, Cam didn't bring a whole lot of heat on this one, so I doubt Jay will be responding any time soon. With his Nets knocked out of the NBA playoffs, though, he does have enough free time to knock out another 16 bars discussing his choice in sandals.
