Got something a little different for today -- a song that uses humor and drops some knowledge. Its a track from Bomani "D'mite" Armah, out of Washington D.C. To describe his style he says, "I'm not a rapper, I'm a poet with a hip-hop style." You can read more about him and check out a few of his songs (which are all good) at his site Not A Rapper.
The track is called "Read a Book," and sounds a lot like what a Public Service Announcement from Lil Jon would be like. The lyrics don't get too intricate on this one, but it gets its message across surprisingly well: Read a book, get your hygiene game up and start investing in something worthwhile. Can't argue with that, and its also one of the few crunk songs I can actually listen to. This one should get heavy rotation in our public schools. Here it is:
