Two new shootings to report on today. First, Screwed Up Click member Hawk was
murdered Monday night, with no apparent motive behind the killing. Then, last night, "King of the South" T.I. was involved
in a highway shooting that left one person dead and three wounded. Apparently trouble began for T.I. earlier in the night at his concert. T.I. began throwing dollar bills into the audience and some people in the audience took it as an insult. Naturally the way to resolve this was to drive up on T.I. and start blasting guns. Whatever happened to just handing out a beatdown?
This is in addition to last week's
shooting of Gravy outside Hot 97's building in Manhattan. With the way things are going, I expect
Lil' Romeo to get into a shoot out with Bow Wow by the end of the summer.
Its hard to believe today, but at one point KRS-1 was respected in the hip hop community. After BDP member Scott La Rock was killed, he started up the "Stop The Violence" movement. The success of that movement is debatable, but it came at a time when N.W.A., DJ Quik and Luther Campbell all had serious beef with each other and no one ended up dead. Today, we have people getting murdered after a rapper throws a dollar bill off the stage. Perhaps its time for the Blastmaster to bring the movement back. Here's a live version of BDP's Stop The Violence:
