Yesterday, MTV put up an article about Fabolous, explaining his beef with "Murda" MA$E. In a way I guess this whole feud makes sense. Back in the late 90's, Mase was the go-to guy for generic R&B groups who wanted a half-assed rap added to their radio singles. These days, Fabo is that guy.

That being said, I have to take Fab's side on this one. I'm willing to accept that some level of hypocrisy is inherent in hip hop (see: Tupac's Dear Mama vs. How Do You Want It), but Mase takes it to a whole other level. First, he's doing hardcore rap mixtapes with Cam'ron and Big L as Murda Mase. Next he's running around in shiny suits with a big smile in his face, and appearing on the Rugrats soundtrack. Then he's a pastor, preaching about the evils of gangsta rap. Now he's signed with G-Unit, putting out diss tracks left and right and playing the girlfriend role for 50 Cent that Lloyd Banks used to fill.

So here is Fabolous' response to Murda Mase (rapping over an old 50 cent beat):

The track is from Fab's new mixtape, which is a lot better than his last commercial release. You can buy Fabolous' Loso's Way mixtape here.
