In honor of the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., I'm posting a song from a mixtape which, in its own weird way, used race relations as the basis for its song selections.

The mixtape is Identity Crisis, by DJ Unexpected and DJ Supreme. The majority of the songs are acapellas from (white) boy/girl bands blended with beats from (black) rap groups, or rap vocals blended with pop beats. In between tracks the DJs have included parts of the standup routines of Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy discussing their experiences with white folk. Ultimately, the tape doesn't actually offer any profound social commentary but it is interesting to see some of the selections the djs use.

The song I am putting up is a blend of Maroon 5's This Love with the beats from Nine's Lyin' King, Das Efx's They Want Efx and a few other songs.

If you like this song, the mixtape is still available. You can buy it here.
