It's hard to believe in this day and age, what might be dubbed the Gatsby era of hip hop wherein millionaire rappers compete to find new ways of lyrically reveling in the ennui of life as a One Percenter, but just a few years ago it was entirely possible to achieve a reasonable level of success in the music industry by rapping entirely about robbing and killing people. That wasn't necessarily a high point for hip hop - the mid aughts generated, among other things, thousands of pages of blogs and message board posts debating the merits of rappers like Papoose and Dipset's J.V. squad of weed carriers, and mixtapes began masquerading as something called "street albums" - but there are times today when, after hearing several Young Money r&b/rap/electronica/muzak fusion tracks played in succession, some ignorant street rap is a welcome diversion from the usual. Bonus points if it features a rapper from Jersey, in this case 19 year old Pressure from Jersey City, and even more points if it jacks one of Jay-Z's all time greatest beats.
