Zilla Rocca and Curly Castro discuss Wu-Tang Pulp (plus Monty Hall Expo)
For anyone reading this who hasn't yet grabbed a copy of the excellent, destined to be classic, album Wrecking Crew Presents: Wu-Tang Pulp, please do yourself a favor and get it right now over at the bandcamp page. Then once you've had a chance to listen to it in its entirety, annotated each and every obscure cultural reference that Curly Castro drops throughout, and finished debating which Wrecking Crew member maps to which Wu-Tang member, check out the above video from Rhymestreet that features Castro and Zilla discussing the origins and development of the album along with a live performance of the Pulp track Monty Hall Expo (at the beginning) and Mad Light Inside the Dark (at the end of the video), and an explanation of the phrase "Piranha Hands." The production on the video is top notch, it features a killer soundtrack, and it is likely to be far more entertaining than whatever work you were planning on doing at the office today.
And as a bonus, here's something of a "deleted scene" from the Wu-Tang Pulp album, an early take from Small Pro on the remake of Raekwon's Criminology beat. I heard this version back in 2009, and as soon as those amazing drums kicked in I knew that the album would be well worth all of the effort that they were going to put into it. Check it out:
